Is paying for your traffic ever a good moveYou can hear a lot of success stories about people who made it on the internet. Including mine should I ever choose to tell it. The bad thing is for every story about one who makes it on the net there are a hundred stories about people who didn't make it at all. Just like brick and mortar, not everyone makes it on the net.Is it luck that some people make it. It's remote but I do know a couple of lucky people who were in the right place at the right time and made enough to retire at 30. Luck isn't the norm tho, like me, most make it through hard work, thinking smarter, working more efficiently and learning from mistakes. It's simply the entrepreneurial spirit transferred to the net. If you have the time to invest and the will to learn and keep at it you can make it too. Traffic is the one absolute thing you need after your site is built. You can't have any kind of business without customers to sell your products to. On the net the traffic is the surfer who visits your site. The more traffic you have the more people you can sell your product or service to. However like in any business on the street, not every one who comes in will buy something from you. Matter of fact most of them won't buy from you but will browse through your pages. This means the greater number of people you can get to your site the more who will buy instead of just looking around. This is a simple fact. How do you get enough traffic to make a small percent of surfers eventual buyers? How do you get enough of them to make a profit with small conversion ratios? Lots of companies get tens of thousands of visitors everyday and probably ten percent actually buy something if it's targeted traffic. That small percent is enough to more than provide you with a very good living.
Some of these companies get their traffic by paying others for it. Yeah, the old thing again, 'you have to spend money to make money'. The more people that know your website exists and has what they want the more you are going to sell and the more money you will make. Sort of common sense isn't it? However it's just another thing most people don't do. You can always get some traffic for free but those methods don't give you the same amount or quality of traffic you can get by paying for it. Google, Yahoo and even MSN now have ways for you to advertise your product or service. The fastest way for a person to find what they want on the net is to do a search for it at one of the search engines. SE provide a free service to people and it is a vital service if they are ever going to find what they want on the net. They are also free and easy to use. That's the main reasons they get so many visitors and you hear about them making such obscene amounts of money. With all the visitors they get it makes good sense that many companies would pay to advertise on them. Millions and millions of users get information from search engines everyday. SE do provide links to sites that are supposedly relevant to what the visitor was searching for and they do a pretty fair job of it most of the time. If your website ranks high enough you will get a lot of traffic just from te free search engine links. SEO is a cheaper way to go than paying for your visitors but you have to rank high to get the volume you need. Paying for ads on search engines can be one way to always be in the top results. When you pay for your advertisements essentially you are paying for your traffic. When you pay for your traffic this way it's highly targeted traffic and you should be guaranteed of a somewhat consistent flow of traffic to your site. Because it is targeted traffic you should be making sales everyday. When you pay for traffic, in general you will be paying everytime someone clicks on your link or your ad. This is called pay per click but be careful to keep good records of how many visitors were sent to your site and how many converted into sales. If you don't know that you could lose money. Some of the search engines charge you every time your ad is shown when a phrase or keyword is searched for by a surfer. You need to have good keywords in your ad. You can find tools on the net that will help you find the right keywords and Google has some great adwords tools. It may seem like a no brainer but you need the right keywords to get your ad clicked on. The money you spend on traffic will be well spent if you watch what you are doing. You will get a lot of traffic which can boost the amount of money you make to high levels. Paying for your traffic can be a great idea and a great way to jump start your site. |
