If you have thousands of pages, or even hundreds of pages on your website you have to give them a simple method to find what they are looking for and without a major problem finding it. You could use an SQL database driven search engine, you could add search google to your website for usability and have them search your site, plus get paid if someone clicks on a relevant ad. You could also make a simple glossary or index of what you have if it's going to be easy to use. The usability of a website is up to you and if you want to have happy surfers the usability of your site must be very high.
Always make sure your site loads fast or you will lose surfers. A lot of internet users will leave a website if it doesn't load withing 15 seconds or less. I know The other thing that will upset surfers is broken links. Test every link on your site and make sure it goes where it's supposed to. Nothing can irritate a surfer like links that end up as 404 pages. It says you aren't all that professional and that's not the image you want to present. For the same reason it's a good idea to spell check each of your pages. It just makes sense to do all these things. Website usability and user centered design should always be your goal. You'll definitely make more money than those who don't care about the usability of a website.
