Designing a website for clickbank

I was designing a website page and I was looking for products for that page, the other day. So I visited a few place that had products I was interested in selling on that site.

I use Clickbank for quite a few different pages on my websites so back there I went to see if they had anything I could use. As a rule I try to pick things that have recurring payouts. That little thing helps me and you to make a ton more money.

Now there are a lot of things you need to know before you set your site up to sell a product. Just a few of the things I look for are,

  • Does the headline match what they are selling?
  • Is the headline in quotes?
  • Are they selling more than one product?
  • Do they collect email addresses?
  • Are their buy now buttons very obvious or do you have to search for them?
  • Is there a guarantee?
  • Do they use bullet points for benefits?
  • Do they use a PS or two?
  • Do they offer a compelling reason to buy now?
  • Do they offer realistic customer testimonials?
  • Are they using AdSense or other AdSense type ads?
  • What is the gravity of the site?
  • What does the product pay?

One other thing I do is go to this url Clickbank Refund Calculator and see what the expected refund rate is. Lol, makes a big difference.

Because any fool can sell anything on clickbank you really have to check the selling pages. Because there are some people on CB who take advantage of newbies or because they don't know how to design a page that sells You need to have some criteria to eliminate the pages you aren't going to make any money sending your hard earned traffic to.

First the headline should match the product. Lol, hard to believe but some don't. The headline should state a huge benefit of having the product. It should also be in quotes as testing has shown that headlines in quotes have a higher sales percentage than headlines that aren't in quotes.

Buy buttons should be very obvious to the user, thee should always be a guarantee because Clickbank has one so they might as well mention the 8 week satisfaction guarantee and feature it. Using bullet points for benefits makes it easier for the customer to decide if they want the product or not.

Using a PS also improves sales and if they aren't using one they and you are losing money. Customer testimonials are necessary as people don't like to be the first to try something. Testimonials mean, to the customer, that others have bought the product and liked it.

While collecting email addresses of surfers won't disqualify the product it will make me think twice and if there are other things that aren't right that may be the deciding one. It all depends on how intrusive the email collector is. Very intrusive and happens before anything else I won't sell that product.

The people who do that aren't interested in selling their product, they are interested in you and I sending them traffic so they can build their own email lists at our expense.

If they are selling more than one product I don't use them, as a rule. There may be one now and then I use but then there are other things going on or it's the only product I could find. If all products are closely related they have a better chance of me selling the product.

If they are using AdSense ads or Yahoo ads or any other type of ads on their sales page I'm NOT going to use them. If they don't have the confidence that they can sell their own product and make money I sure as hell ain't sending them any of my traffic. I send MY TRAFFIC to buy what they are selling, NOT to enrich them through their AdSense ads.

A sales page that sells other things or puts up other ads isn't going to make you as much money(it's going to make the person doing the selling a lot more money tho) as a page or product that is specifically to sell one product and only one product.

These are just a few of the things I look for at clickbank and other places when I am designing a page to sell a product. One other little note. If you are designing specific pages for specific products you want to make your page look as much like the products page as you can. Try to use the same colors, fonts, etc. because if you do you will sell more.
