Why gurus don't care about you, site design, SE positioning or if you are successful

Most site design and SE positioning guru's don't give a damn about you. They don't care whether you make money or not. They don't care if you get good SE positions or not.

You can look at this page as my little rant for this site. I was checking my email this morning when yet again I get recommendations from guru's on what software to buy, which programs to join, etc.

I'm sure you get some of the same stuff. I have a list of about 10 newsletters I'm signed up for and a few other little things. About 15 different "Guru's" emailing me on topics I'm interested in.

It would be nice if they actually emailed me or you about those topics but no, that's not what they are about. You see, the gurus all have a club. A big club that they all belong to. Me and you? We're to small to belong to their club.

Another thing you'll discover on your site design and money making journey is how incestuous they are. Seems what they really do is promote each others junk. They don't care about you or even if the junk they promote to you is good. They just say they do.

What would you expect them to say. Sheesh. What they really want to do when you go to their site is get you to signup for their newsletters so they can sell you crap or spam you with stuff you don't care about. Seldom do they send you anything useful about what they teach.

What they want is to sell you something and if it's not theirs, then someone they are bragging up. Hell sometimes what they tell you to buy is at cross purposes with what they tell you do to to begin with. Shows how much and what they really care about. It ain't you, site design, SE positioning or anything like that.

You got it, what they care about is making money. In particular, making money from you. I was so irritated this morning I removed myself from three different mailing lists because they all sent me the same bullshit.

There are a few on the Help with website design page. Dan and Mike are pretty damn good and Dan, like I do, tells it like it really is. NicheBot is one hell of a good place too.

Most of them just flat out suck tho. Please understand that any idiot with a computer and a little experience can create realistic spreadsheets, realistic stats and all the rest of it, to impress you and get you to waste your money on their CRAP.

Basically what you need to know is how to pick products that sell. Hey, better to learn to pick products that actually sell than wasting your time on trying to sell things no one wants to buy.

Then you need to learn a little about search engine optimization for your pages. It's no longer some arcane science that's hard to do. It's pretty straight forward and easy to do.

Then you need to know about links, how to get them, what they are worth, where to get them and what text to use in the links.

Of course you also need to know how to design pages for a site but you can buy tools to take care of that for you. MOF I recommend a few on this site.

That's really all you need to know. You can make a ton of money with just those few alone. You don't need gurus and high priced systems designed to get the SE to send you traffic. You can succeed without their crappy systems. Of course it takes more work but you can do it on your own.

Lol, once upon a time I was considered a guru by those who didn't know better. Back when we made it up as we went along and could adapt to change in minutes. Alta Vista visited often and pages could easily be tested. I did that the hard way. That's a few light years back. ;)

Just keep coming back here and I'll keep telling you a little more every week as I have time. That's all you really need to do. Next week I'll show you how to make a page, or you can copy it and use it, that will put you higher up in the search results, over people who aren't using it.
