I’ve always wondered why the presidents mostly picked old guys for the supreme court. However it does explain why the supreme court generally lags behind the public for about twenty years and an appointment or two.
It seems to me that the absolute best way to influence the direction of the country, and it’s policies, further into the future would be to appoint the youngest possible person to the job that absolutely fit current values.
Just think, if a president served 2 terms he might get lucky enough to pick 3 that are young enough to serve for forty or more years. That would double presidential policies power for a long time.
Just a random thought on how a president could control a supreme court and affect this countries laws and policies for years. I’d say that all voting age americans be given the power to vote for or against approval as it’s really the people who are going to need to worry about current and future policies.
Lol, it may be hard to get a few of those people in congress to go for the candidates I’d pick but the people could push it over the edge. Our congressional idiots seem to be able to do nothing but argue with each other so we, the people need to be given more control over our destinies than some damn fools who don’t care about the people or the country, just getting reelected.
If we, the people, had control of our own destinies the world would be a different place. Then again, the sheeple tend to believe the best liars rather than finding out facts for themselves. Heh, OTOH we can’t mess it up anymore than the idiots in congress. Hey, idiots, It’s the economy, stupid! No jobs = no money= no economy. Vote them all out and start over. NOW!
Recall them all and elect someone else. Dereliction of duty for lack of a better reason. 95% of them are guilty of that, anywhere in the world. Things aren’t going to get better until all the Washington idiots start doing what’s best for the country instead of themselves or their parties.
Blind allegiance to ideology is what Hitler expected and what the republicans have stooped to. What’s right doesn’t matter, what’s best for the country doesn’t matter, what’s best for the party is all that matters. Getting elected by any means necessary. Even to the point of using terrorist tactics and 3rd world type propaganda.
It’s time for it all to end. Throw the bastards out, throw them all out now!
