For some reason I was just sitting here thinking about the differences in mine and my girlfriends lives. She's a female and I'm a male. Lol, there's a commentary on the times that I even have to say that.
When she's with me she's going to be treated better or I'm going to be treated worse. Depends on where we are. Some places we'll be treated equally but that's more than likely a friends house. No place will she be outright disrespected because I won't stand for it.
When she's alone she gets treated entirely differently. Oh, I remember, I was thinking about Obama running for president and got to wondering what subtle differences there were in my GF's life that I couldn't begin to imagine.
Then I started thinking about how I'd act if there was ever a problem somewhere. Decided we'd just leave because there's no time and patience in me for educating the truly ignorant. If I stayed someone would get hurt and it wouldn't likely be me cause I'm old and I don't fight fair. Besides, I'm fragile.
Besides, my generation isn't afraid to cary a gun around. I suspect violence against seniors will go down somehwat as my generation gets just a bit older. It's one thing to attack an old man or woman, it's another to attack knowing you mighyt get your ass shot and the guy or woman holding the gun is probably a better shot than you are.
Just more things I shouldn't have to say at this point in time. People tell me I'm negative, a pessimist and to cynical but I think I must live to far in the future. I never expected to encounter such unbridled ignorance or subtly anywhere at this point in my life.
