Ice fishing? What's that? is a common thing I hear when I'm down south. I'm sure at least 3/4ths of the country doesn't have a clue what it is or how to do it/ However if you live where the lakes freeze you know what I'm talking about.

Late fall when it's cold outside, to cold to fish comfortably from a boat, people in the horth can't wait for the lakes to freeze over so they can pull their ice fishing shack out onto the lake and start jigging for walleyes, crappies and perch.

Personally I like to go ice fishing for big northern pike because it's a lot of fun. If you've never been ice fishing I'd strongly recommend you head up north in late December or early January and givve it a try.

Wiht an ice fishing shack and a good heater it's as comortable as sitting in a boat when it's warm outside. Just because yoou're 5 miles out on the ice doesn't mean it has to be cold inside.

I just pit up an ice fishing article about Having fun and being safe ice fishing that some people might be interested in.

There are a couple of more ice fishing articles besides the one for ice fishing for northerns. Lol, I live down south now where no one even knows what ice fishing is and they look at me like I'm crazy when I try to explain it.

I kind of miss the solitude and anticipation of ice fishing tho.
